BlogHer: Day One

I'm writing this from my new favorite Chicago find, Argo Tea. Rumor has it they're going to be taking on NYC in a few months. They have amazing coffee and all their food is baked fresh daily (not to mention they sell crepes with hazelnut, my lifeblood).

Quick wrap up of the first day at BlogHer:

1- Mommy bloggers are taking over the world (one sponsor at a time)

2- The stats about gender stratification in the 'building your expertise' panel were staggering and definitely made you think "why?"

3- Women need to want and BE better represented in the public debate sphere

4- The Threadless office is hands down the coolest office I've ever seen. (guitar hero, photo booth, graffiti walls, fish tanks and amazingly nice people)

5- Lake Michigan does in fact look like the ocean (half cool/half creepy). I still think there's sharks in there

6- The women who started BlogHer know what they're doing
